“Great Customer Service, Selection and Prices.
My husband and I are building a house and this place was recommended to us by our friend who had used CT Light for her recent building project. We stopped in on a Saturday to look at lighting, and before we could go off to picking pretty stuff, Ken the lighting expert, insisted we needed to look at the house plans to determine where we needed lights. He was right. He sat with us for two hours going through every inch of our home to design a lighting plan. I was extremely impressed. He will come out to our house site in the near future to confirm the lighting plan. Ken did have to take a break from us when the store got busy, which was a perfect time for us to take a break and get lunch. Ken wrote out 3 pages of detailed lighting needs (pot lights, bath lights, reading, etc.) He is very knowledgeable! We finally left with ‘homework’. Ken provided us lighting books. We returned again a couple of weeks later, on a Sunday, and Cindy helped us pick out our lights. She was friendly, pleasant and very knowledgeable as well! Cindy spent a couple of hours with us choosing fans, chandeliers, bath room lights, etc. I had a detailed price quote for all our fixtures in my inbox within 24 hours! Their prices are comparable to internet prices, and their service so far is great.
Customer service is extremely important to me, and we have chosen to NOT use a very posh lighting store close to our home because their lighting department has crappy customer service. I can’t believe that in this economy and with the internet making purchases so easy (and generally less expensive), that stores in this area have such poor customer service. The only thing that sets you apart is your customer service–the customer experience starts with making eye contact and greeting immediately upon entering your store–doesn’t matter how busy you are, look, greet, smile–3 seconds. (Can you tell I’m passionate about service?! 🙂 )

“We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a great customer experience we had with Jeff Zagoren at Connecticut Lighting in Southington, CT. Last year we were in the middle of a complete kitchen renovation and we needed a lot of assistance with choosing under-cabinet lighting for our redesigned kitchen. We went to the Southington store and Jeff was eager to assist us. He explained the different types of under-cabinet lighting (advantages and disadvantages), and we ended up ordering all of our kitchen lighting, plus two (2) ceiling lights and one standing lamp for our bedroom. The process went smoothly and Jeff worked closely with us and one of the technical persons at CT Lighting with the configuration of the lights. When the lights came in, Jeff went above and beyond the call of duty by dropping off part of the order when it arrived into your store. When does that happen??
Most recently, we had a need to call Jeff again, as one of the under-cabinet light fixtures was malfunctioning. Jeff immediately found our work order and advised us that this piece was sill under warranty (we didn’t have the paperwork, but Jeff found it in your system). Again, we had a GREAT customer experience, made possible by Jeff. He rushed ordered this part for us and we picked it up today.
An employee of this caliber should not go unnoticed! We have recommended some of our friends to visit CT Lighting and to personally seek out Jeff. Because of our direct experience with Jeff, we will be back to the Southington store for our lighting needs.”

“After a lot of research for an “expert” landscape lighting designer in CT, we were introduced to Paul. The challenge presented to him was not only creating a lighting plan that covers over two acres of land, but trying to meet our expectations.
In a very short amount of time, Paul educated us on all the different styles of light, layering concepts, pros/cons, costs benefits, and “less light is more”. He created a plan that included all types of fixtures—each strategically placed, uniquely configured with the correct light output and color. To say the plan was beautiful would be an understatement.
The store is open 7 days a week making our lives so much easier. The order was complex, but was delivered with 100% accuracy. Each of the hundred’s of pieces where meticulously labeled for placement location. A blueprint was made for my electrician to follow.
Throughout the process, Paul was onsite with me at my house to review before, during and after installation. Proactive emails and phone calls to “see how we are doing” were especially appreciated. His attention to the smallest detail while being able to see the big picture is incredible.
Just when I thought Paul was one-of-a-kind, I was introduced to Jim Meltzer who programmed my RadioRA for me. His knowledge of the system, patience of trying to teach me how to use the system and professionalism were a breath of fresh air.
The amount of experience knowledge, professionalism and raw talent Paul and the entire team brings to the table is unmatched. I only wish there were more companies out there like Connecticut Lighting Centers! ”

“I recently remodeled my bathroom. I looked all over the chain stores and couldn’t find anything of quality. When I walked into this lighting center, I was very surprised to see how many bathroom lights there were. And the quality was excellent. The bathroom fixture I wanted wasn’t in stock but it was sent to me without any problems. The sales people were also very helpful and very nice. I need outside light fixtures and I will go there again for them and all my lighting needs. Very friendly people and the prices are reasonable as well.”
