About Connecticut Lighting Centers

signWe are your source for Lighting, Fans, Decorative Hardware & Home Accents. Connecticut Lighting Centers was established in 1972 in Hartford, CT and is family owned & locally operated. We have three showrooms in Connecticut including Restoration Lighting Gallery. Learn more about us and our customer philosophy, our team, history and locations.

Our Philosophy

“The customer is the boss!” is a philosophy passed down from Arthur Director to David Director to Todd Director that has brought continued success. This philosophy embodies the concept that the customer decides whether a business is going to succeed. Our business has been built on honesty, integrity and our focused drive to satisfy our customers’ needs. We have been open 7 days and 5 nights a week for 20 years and will open early or stay late for any customer. Our customers’ needs and requirements are of principal importance to us and that feeling is conveyed through all employees, who set the tone and the standard for our store. We will always be fair, honest and, most importantly, provide an environment for our staff that we can all be both proud of and feel everyone’s efforts are truly appreciated.

The Lighting District

Connecticut Lighting Centers in Hartford, and Restoration Lighting Gallery, right across the street, comprise The Lighting District; a complete lighting source with the unique ability to serve both the residential and commercial markets for any and every lighting project. The synergy between the two showrooms allows us to tackle any lighting challenge, giving us the ability to never say “no” to our customers’ needs. Any project we handle, whether large or small, we will handle professionally, efficiently, and within any budget.

A Leader and Innovator in the Lighting Industry

Management has a strong commitment to such industry organizations as the American Lighting Association – Arthur Director was a past president and David served on the Board – the Homebuilder’s Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau and many other organizations. Along with our commitment to the lighting industry, we place high priority on supporting various charitable organizations in our ongoing commitment to help those in need. In particular, David Director sits on the Executive Boards of the Rushford Center, United Way of Middlesex County, Liberty Bank, Quinnipiac University Business School Advisory Board and the Middlesex County Community Foundation. He is also involved with the Boy Scouts of America, is the co-chair of the Rushford Golf Tournament and founder and co-chair of the Interfaith Golf Tournament. Connecticut Lighting Centers, in partnership with Restoration Lighting Gallery, strives to contribute to 200 local community charities each year.
