Our Philosophy

“The customer is the boss!” is a philosophy passed down from Arthur Director to David Director that has brought continued success. This philosophy embodies the concept that the customer decides whether a business is going to succeed. Our business has been built on honesty, integrity and our focused drive to satisfy our customers’ needs. We have been open 7 days and 5 nights a week for 20 years and will open early or stay late for any customer.

Our Team

Our team is comprised of a group of experienced lighting and home decor professionals whose number one priority is serving our customers’ every need. Motivation and drive to have the latest information come second nature to the members of our sales team, who are known for their longevity of employment and commitment to the company. We hold regular training sessions and have vendors come in monthly to educate our employees on the latest products and technologies.

Our History

Connecticut Lighting Centers was established in 1972 in Hartford, CT by the Director family, along with a staff of six employees. The store was the first in the area to promote the “lighting center” concept – a store solely committed to the sale of lighting fixtures, decorative tables, floor lamps, paddle fans and accessories.  From those humble beginnings, we have expanded to three beautiful showrooms, including Restoration Lighting Gallery, a large warehouse facility and successfully serve New England and beyond.

Hartford Showroom

Visit our main showroom and corporate office located at 160 Brainard Road in Hartford, CT to experience the largest display of lighting, fans and home accents in New England.

Southington Showroom

For our Southeast CT homeowners, builders, architects and designers, visit our branch showroom located at 235 Queen Street in Southington, CT to find the same great lighting, fans and home accents available at our Hartford showroom.

The Lighting District

Connecticut Lighting Centers in Hartford, and Restoration Lighting Gallery, right across the street, comprise The Lighting District; a complete lighting source with the unique ability to serve both the residential and commercial markets for any and every lighting project. The synergy between the two showrooms allows us to tackle any lighting challenge, giving us the ability to never say “no” to our customers’ needs. Any project we handle, whether large or small, we will handle professionally, efficiently, and within any budget.
